Valerie Seaw Ja Hui

Valerie is commercial and corporate litigator. She read law at the University of Leeds (LL.B. Hons, 2020) and she holds Master of Laws in Clinical Legal Education (LL.M) from the University of Law, London. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales in March 2022 and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2023 after completing her pupillage in Messrs Thomas Philip. 

Valerie’s practice focuses on commercial and corporate litigation. She regularly advises and represents clients in a wide range of complex and high-value disputes across all tiers of the Malaysian courts, from the High Court to the appellate courts.  

Her experience includes acting for developers, multinational corporations, public-listed companies and high-profile individuals in matters involving corporate and commercial disputes, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes and breaches of directors’ duties. Valerie has also been involved in significant matters relating to corporate insolvency and restructuring, judicial review proceedings against governmental authorities, land-related disputes and defamation claims, in addition to handling a broad range of general civil litigation.
